There is a moment that happens at every trade show. An attendee turns a corner onto the expo floor, scans the room, and within seconds decides where to go. Not based on brochures. Not based on a pitch. Based on what they see and feel the instant their eyes land on a space.
That moment is either working for your brand or working against it. There is no neutral.
At Paragon Events, we have spent more than 35 years helping companies make that moment count. We plan, design, and produce trade show experiences across industries ranging from technology and finance to healthcare and government. And in all that time, the brands that stand out on the floor share one thing in common: they treat their booth not as a tent and a table but as a living, breathing expression of who they are.
Here is what that looks like, and what our team brings to every client we work with.
Design for Emotion First
Most companies approach trade show design backwards. They start with logistics. How big is the booth? Where does the product demo go? Where does the team stand? Those things matter, but they are not where great design begins.
Great design starts with a question: What do we want someone to feel the moment they step into this space?
Confident… Curious… Welcomed… Delighted…
That emotional target shapes everything that follows: the color palette, the materials, the lighting, the spatial flow, the height of your walls, the texture of your surfaces. When you design for a feeling, the booth stops being a display case and starts being an experience.
What Immersive Means…Really
“Immersive” gets attached to a lot of trade show marketing without reallymeaning much. So let us be specific about what it means in our process.
An immersive booth experience is one where attendees are not just looking at your brand. They are inside it. They are seeing it, touching it, sometimes tasting it. They are not passive observers. They are participants, and good promo, should never be a throwaway. It should be rethought, redesigned, and built to showcase a brand’s quality, not just hand someone another piece of paper they will toss at the airport.
This kind of thinking is something we bring to every client relationship, no matter the industry or the size of the footprint.
A few of the ways it comes to life:
Concepts That Replace the Ordinary
Instead of a standard product display, we look for the metaphor that makes a brand’s value proposition physical. A platform that organizes data could become a walk-through marketplace where everything is easy to find and easy to take home. A service built on trust could become a space styled around hospitality and welcome. The goal is always the same: translate what the brand actually does into something a person can walk into and understand instantly.
Interactions That Replace the Handshake
The traditional trade show handoff, a brochure and a business card, rarely survives the flight home. We design alternatives: tactile keepsakes, small reveals, interactions that ask someone to participate instead of just receive. When someone has to do something to get something, they remember it.
Activations That Travel
Great concepts are not one-and-done. We build experiences that can scale and adapt across an entire event season, whether that means a flagship booth at one show and a smaller satellite activation at the next, or the same world reimagined for a different floor plan and a different audience.
A Quick Look at this in Practice
One of our long-standing client partners, a real estate data company, is a great example of what this looks like across a full season of shows. We have built a complete walk-through retail concept for them at one major conference, custom interactive keepsakes to replace the paper business card at another, and a bold street-cart activation tied to a product launch at a third. Each one was a different concept entirely, designed around the specific moment and message that mattered most for that event.
That range, building something new and fully realized for every single show rather than reusing the same booth shell with a new banner, is exactly the kind of work we bring to every client. Most recently, that same approach helped a client take home the award for Best Booth at Realcomm 2025, a major industry conference, recognized among hundreds of competing exhibitors.
